Harish Rao meets Gadkari, seeks more Central funds

Hyderabad : Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao met Union Minister for Water Resources Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi today and requested him to santion more funds for the irrigation projects and national highways being constructed in Telangana State.
 
Speaking to media persons later, Harish Rao said that the Union Minister has been requested for more funds for early completion of Kaleshwaram, Palamuru Ranga Reddy and other projects. Similarly, more funds have been sought for national highways of Telangana. He thanked the Central Government for giving required permissions for Kaleshwaram Project in a short time. However, he said that the Centre needs to release funds for some projects like Bheema, Kommaram Bheem projects. He said nearly Rs. 50-60 crore were pending from the Centre for the last three months.
 
Harish Rao informed that Centre's sanction has been sought for seven national highways including Siddipet-Alkaturti; Jangaon-Dodera; Medak-Yellareddy; Fakeerabd- Bhainsa; Sircilla-Kamareddy; Waligonda-Turur and Nirmal-Khanapur. He said that the Centre has been requested to call for tenders and begin construction in current financial year.
 
He said that the Union Minister has assured to consider Telangana Government's request.
