Scuffle between MRO, farmer

Elkathurthy (Warangal Urban): An altercation between Elkathurthy mandal revenue officer and a farmer ended up in a scuffle here on Monday. 

According to reports, Marri Rajaiah of Sitampet village under Hasanparthy mandal sold a part of his two acres land, said to be assigned, located in Baopet village to P Lingamurthy a few years ago. When Lingamurthy refused to purchase the remaining part of land, Rajaiah filed a case seeking the already sold land. 

Against this backdrop, the revenue department issued pattadar passbook and also the financial assistance provided under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme to Lingamurthy. Infuriated by this, Rajaiah, who was reportedly in an inebriated condition, held the collar of the MRO A Mallesham at the latter’s office. The revenue officials who were present at the incident overpowered Rajaiah and handed him over to the police.
