‘Give wide publicity to child adoption programme’
Kothagudem: Chairmen Central Adoption Resource Authority M. Ramchandra Reddy asked officials to give wide publicity to the child adoption programme in villages across the district. On Wednesday, addressing a meeting organised in the district, he said that children should be adopted following legal procedures, not illegally.
The government will punish illegal adoption of children he added. In every year in the state, nearly 3,000 children are being adopted; among them girl children are more, he said. District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu said the child protection committee has been doing good job of protection of children.
He explained how to conduct the programme in the district for the protection of the children’s by the Integrated Child Development Project. The Police department also conduct many programmes in the district and give more publicity at the village level. All departments are being cooperated on this issue, he said. The committees of the welfare and protection are working at the village level and giving the good results, the Collector added.
The advisors of the child rights G.Srinu, Prasad, DSPs M.Ali, Rajesh, ICDS Project Officer Jansi Laxmi Bai, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Dayanath Swamy and the officer of the children protections Siva Kumari and other staff attended the meeting.
