The Gattuppal Sadhana Samithi activists began fast-unto-death a few days ago in support of their demand for creationg of Gattuppal mandal. Villagers condemned the arrest thier leaders and expressed outrage at the government for not accepting their demand.

The villagers took out a protest rally against arrest of Sadhana Samithi leaders and burnt effigy of local MLA Kusukuntla Pabhakar Reddy. They alleged that group politics among MP Bhoora Narsaiah Goud, MLC Karne Prabhakar and MLA K Prabhakar Reddy was the main reason behind the delay in formation of Gattuppal mandal.

Though Ministers G Jagadish Reddy and K T Rama Rao assured the villagers that Gattuppal mandal would carved out during their  visit to Munugodu constituency  four months ago, no action was taken so far to fulfil the promise.
