NIT begins induction programme for freshers
Warangal: A two-week induction programme, intended to acclimatise and expose the BTech freshers to various facets of campus life and help them to realise their full potential, has begun here on NIT campus on Tuesday.
Addressing the students, Director Prof NV Ramana Rao said that institute life is the beginning of a new independent life. “It brings with itself a lot of enthusiasm, excitement, hope, expectations, fear and fun. Everyone has spark and all that they need to know is ‘how to ignite it’.
He advised students to use all learning platforms and become excelling in the life using the recourses available on the campus. He said, students are the end-products, who have to be shaped in a new mould and grab by the faculty. They are the prime recipients of knowledge.
Rao dwelt at length about the thirst for knowledge, adaptive attitude to accept new happening, inclination to increase knowledge both quantitatively and qualitatively, capacity to visualise. Later, he explained about the NIT’s history, its strengths and opportunities it provides to the students.
Dean (Students Welfare) Prof LRG Reddy, Dean (Academic) Prof Pydi Shetty, Dean (Faculty Welfare) Prof K Madhu Murthy, Dean (Planning and Development) Prof Anand Raj and Dean (IRAA) Prof KV Jaya Kumar explained about the academic structure and activities which take place in the institute. Nearly 1,200 people attended the programme.
