Keep surroundings clean: ZP Chairperson to citizens
Khammam: Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha here on Wednesday exhort the people to utilise the individual sanitary Latrines (ISL’s) constructed under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) to keep surroundings clean and neat.
The ZP Chairperson was chairing a ‘Swachh Survekshan-Gramin-2018’ review meeting with the members of Self-Help Groups (SHG) at Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) here.
Speaking at the meeting, Kavitha said it was the responsibility of the members of SHG’s to motivate the villagers to use toilets. The Central government in association with State government launched the programme the SBA.
She said that under Swachh Survekshan programme ranks would be allotted to every district after checking the cleanliness of villages, towns and cities. So, everyone should strive to maintain the surroundings clean and neat and the members of SHG’s should take measures for keeping the villages clean and neat by educating the villagers. Later, she inaugurated the Swachh Survekshan publicity vehicle along with releasing pamphlets and posters.
District and Rural Development Agency, Project Director B Indumati, Rural Water Supply, Divisional Engineer Shankar Singh, Additional Project director of DRDA R Jaya Sri and the Consultants of Swachh Bharat Mission Anup and Jakria were present at the programme.
