Bangaru Bonam led to huge turnout at temple: Talasani Srinivas Yadav
Hyderabad: Stating that there were more number of devotees coming to Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple because of the 'Bangaru Bonam', Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday said that the Joginis would be given separate passes for entry into the temple.
Addressing a press conference here Srinivas Yadav said that a committee would be formed by including Jogini Shyamala and other joginis and take steps for providing separate passes to them during the jatara next year. He said that there were more devotees visited the temple this year compared to the previous year.
The number of devotees increased because of the ‘Bangaru Bonam’ being offered to goddess. As per tradition, the Endowments Minister first offered Golden Bonam and later Nizamabad MP K Kavitha carried the Bangaru Bonam. The devotees had to face inconvenience because temple premises were too small. There were some minor issues because of the large number of devotees, he said.
The Minister said, to avoid inconvenience to the devotees temple committee issued passes as per time schedule. He said that the State government released Rs 15 crore for Bonalu this year. The Minister thanked the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials, police, R&B, electricity, water works officials for smooth conduct of the festival.
