Sheep Rearing Scheme to be implemented in merged villages
Khammam: With the issue of GO 74 by the State government, the Sheep Rearing Scheme (SRS), introduced by the State government for the welfare of the shepherd community across the State, will be implemented in the villages which were merged with Khammam Urban mandal. It is to be noted that, the local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar took initiative for extending the scheme to the newly-merged villages.
The MLA took the issue to the notice of Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav when the latter visited Khammam district to attend the awareness programme on the implementation of the Sheep Rearing Scheme last year and submitted a memorandum on the behalf of Golla Kurum Sangham.
The Minister issue the GO number 74 for implementing the Sheep Rearing Scheme in the merged villages. The officials took all necessary steps for distributing of the sheep units under SRS scheme to the shepherds in the newly-merged villages in various districts in the second phase of the programme which is to begin shortly The representatives of the Golla and Kuruma Sangham expressed its gratitude to the MLA.
