National Waste Alternate Conclave 2018 to be held at Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In line with Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission to curb the use of single-use-plastics, and bring in ecofriendly alternate to wastes besides sustainable waste management practices, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), along with Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd., is organising a two-day 'National Waste Alternate Conclave' - Sustainable Waste Management Practices" at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on August 27 & 28, 2018.
The Conclave - exclusively on Conference, Expo and Award - will serve as an ideal platform for the policymakers, thought leaders and practitioners to interact on best practices, methods, innovations, technologies and other important topics in the domain of sustainable waste management focusing on ‘RRR’ formula – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
The Inauguration of the conclave will be graced by Shri KT Rama Rao, Hon’ble Minister of MA&UD, Industries & Commerce, Public Enterprises, Government of Telangana;and Shri Bouthu Rammaohan, Hon’able Mayor, GHMC. Dr B Jarnadhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC; and key officials of GHMC from Swachh Bharat, Solid and Liquid waste management, Sanitation & Lake management will be sharing their thoughts on the States’ plans to curb the menace of plastics and its sustainable alternatives.
Shri Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Government of Telangana; Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, and IT & Electronics, Government of Telangana; Shri M Dana Kishore, Managing Director, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board; Sri P. Satyanarayana Reddy, Member Secretary, Telangana State Pollution Control Board; are the other key dignitaries who will share their initiatives and plans of their departments towards Swachh Hyderabad and Swachh Telangana mission.
The two-day Conclave will also witness Swachh Bharat Mission Directors of states, Representatives of Pollution Control Board from different states and Smart City Commissioners across India.
The Conclave will create a platform for civic authorities and other key stakeholders in public and private sectors and its allied ecosystem to arrive at a solution on the scope of waste management and sustainable waste alternatives for the benefit of the Nation and States.
Self-help group working on plastics alternatives; and NGOs, Universities and Research Institutes who are into sustainable environment and nature practices will be the part of the conclave to showcase their innovative ideas and products to the larger audience of the conclave.
