Officials deaf to praja’s vani

Kothagudem: Fed up with the official apathy, more and more people are neglecting the Grievance Day (Praja Vani) organised at the district Collectorate every Monday.

It is one of the best programmes conducted by the government in all district headquarters where people meet the officials of various departments and file petitions for solution of their problems.

Petitioners across the district flooded in the Collectorate on Mondays and presented their petitions in the Prajavani programme standing in long queues for hours together.

But in most of the cases, the district officials are found adopting callous attitude towards solving problems of the petitioners whose petitions lie unattended for months despite their repeated requests.

The District Collector chairs the programme and orders the officials concerned to attend the petitions.  The applications are received by the officers but they are not interested to solve the issues because of their callous attitude towards the people.

According to sources, in last eight months the officers received as many as 6,098 applications out which they could solve only 3,165 and remaining 2,933 are still pending.

According to the Kondareddla  Sangham leader Mula Ramesh,  the officers are not interested to solve the problems of the people.  On many occasions petitions regarding issues we submitted on the Grievance Day at Kothagudem Collectorate but they are pending till date.  Echoing the same view, Tribal leader Sondhi Veeraiah said many petitions regarding tribal issues are hanging fire at the Collect rate.

The tribals who come from various villages for solution of their problems on the Grievance Day programme, find it of no use as officials are least interested in addressing their issues, he said. CPM leader AJ Ramesh said urged to every officer in the district to clear all the applications to refurbish the image of the government.
