8-yr-old steals show at World Peace Day celebration
Hyderabad: The World Peace Day celebration that was held in the city recently had one special guest, eight year-old Taniya Begum of Unison International School. Taniya who is studying in the second standard delivered a speech in which she quoted the former President APK Abdul Kalam that struck a chord with the audience.
I want to say a few words about peace she started and went on to say the great feature of the nation binds people of all religions together in one bond of humanity and peace. Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures. The World Peace Day celebration was organised by universal peace federation (UPF) and Udaya Kiranam Service Society(UKS).
S K Joshi, chief secretary was the chief guest accompanied with Ajay Mishra, and Rajat Kumar chief electoral officer. Foreign delegate Aisha Audu, deputy high commissioner world humanity commission was also present. Azhar Maqsusi who feeds the needy everyday was also given an award. A campaign ‘React for peace – act for impact’ was initiated on the occasion with a number of diplomats of country embassies from Delhi and peace ambassadors were present at the occasion.
