People have faith in Congress: Ponnam

Karimnagar: Many Congress leaders sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation and the people have reposed lot of faith in the Congress party, said Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar here on Friday.

Speaking to the media here, Prabhakar said the Congress party had never deceived the people. He said the TRS had deceived the people by making false promises.

He accused the TRS of reneging on its promises. “I am ready to participate in open discussion with the TRS party leaders. Do they have the courage to accept my challenge,” he asked. Prabhkar urged the District Collector to take action against the TRS caretaker Ministers and the MPs for participating in officials functions even though the Assembly was dissolved.

The TRS leaders were instigating the Income Tax officials to conduct raids on the Congress leaders to intimidate the latter. Referring to the TRS criticism against the Congress forging an alliance with the TDP, he recalled that the TRS had grand alliance with the TDP in 2009 elections.

DCC president K Mruthunjay, Komatireddy Narendar Reddy, D Shankar, Gajjela Kantham, Karra Rajashekar Reddy and Guggilla Jayasree were present.
