Refresher course for guarding staff begins at Prisons Department

Chanchalguda: Prisons Department of Telangana has started “3rd Batch Refresher Course” for guarding staff (Warders, Head Warders) from October 1 to 12 at State Institute of Correctional Administration, Chanchalguda, Hyderabad.

Rayi Ravi, Joint Secretary to Government, Finance Department, Telangana State, as chief guest inaugurated the course. A Narsimha, Inspector General of Prisons and M Sampath, principal, State Institute of Correctional Administration, Chanchalguda and Jailors, deputy Jailors were present on the occasion. The training is imparted in different fields and guest lecturers are called from reputed institutions to improve the knowledge of the prisons guarding staff.

Rayi Ravi told the trainees to improve the skills in this work and should maintain discipline among prisoners and staff while performing duties. All should learn and update their knowledge in service matters, guard training and they should act as counsellors to prisoners and bring good name to the department and state. He said that where there was good work, recognition would come itself. 

Further, he said Telangana Prisons Department was doing good correctional activities. By which prisoners were getting employment within jail and also after release, from jails. A Narsimha asked the guarding staff to learn the skills in training and implement it in the jails after going to their institution. M Sampath gave a vote of thanks to the chief guest.
