Women urged to stay united

Warangal: The need of the hour is women empowerment, Wardhannapet former MLA Aroori Ramesh said, inaugurating a free sewing training programme for woman held at Madipalli village in Hasanparthy mandal. The programme was organised by the Sarvodaya Youth Organisation with the financial support of the KKS-BMZ Germany.

Speaking on the occasion Aroori Ramesh told the woman to get trained in sewing to help their families grow economically. He complimented the Sarvodaya Youth for holding the free sewing programme. This would definitely help the woman to get the training and develop their skills with minimum expenditure.

He advised the women to remain united and form a group after their training so that they could enter into the production of readymade clothes. He wished that many women would join the training programme and learn sewing by utilising the service of Sarvodaya Youth.

Later, the Sarvodaya Youth secretary Dr Pallepadu Damodar said that they were able to hold the training programme with the cooperation of KKS-BMZ, Germany. They are trying to organise different programmes at village level and trying to enlighten the woman on different laws related to woman, arrange women’s associations and resolve the problems in families through village protection committees and make them live in a cordial manner.

The organisation is trying its best to extend financial help to women and make them live on their own by developing various employment opportunities and trying to help for their self-sustenance, he said. It’s also guiding the women to get benefits from government schemes for their welfare, he added.

So far the organisation extended training to 240 women in computers, 428 women in tailoring. These trained women in computers are working in different offices as operators, while those who got training in tailoring are getting jobs in self-employment centres, he said. Earlier, the leaders paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
