Assam utsav from today

Shilparamam Arts, Crafts and Cultural Society in association with Looitporia- Hyderabad Assam Association jointly celebrating the ‘Assam Utsav’ on October 6 and 7  from 10am onwards at its premises.  

The festival will showcase not only the traditional Assamese dance and music but also the authentic Assamese delicacies straight from the land of blue hills and red rivers. Borgeet and Sattriya Dance: A song and dance form contributed by the great Vaishnavite saint Srimanta Shankardev forms the altar of Assamese culture. Performers of Looitporia will present these unique creations of Assamese culture, as well as the folk songs of Assam which flows in the aorta of each Assamese heart. 

The folk dance Bihu is not only a dance form, but also the lifeline of Assamese culture, which was started to celebrate the lives of agriculture-dependent Assamese people, which has now crossed the boundary of India and appreciated globally. The cultural identity of Assam is also marked by the different song and dance forms of various communities. Showcasing of these cultural components from various parts of Assam in the form of fusion dance will be one of the attractions of the evening.

Not only audio visually, Looitporia is also all set to treat the taste buds of all with the Assamese authentic food items. Til Pitha made of rice flour and jaggery, laddu made of coconut, and other traditional Assamese snacks will surely exceed the expectation of any food lover.
