Prepare advance plans for peaceful polls
Bhupalpally: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr Rajat Kumar told District Collector Vasam Venkateswarlu and Superintendent of Police to identify sensitive polling centers and to prepare plans in advance to prevent any untoward incidents in these centers. He issued orders for conducting the Assembly elections peacefully during a video conference with the district collectors and SPs on Monday.
Additional DGP Jitender was present with the CEO during the conference, in which Additional SP B Rajamahendra Naik and officials of the collectorate election wing were present.
Rajat Kumar asked the Collector and SP to work in coordination with the election officers to conduct polls in a peaceful atmosphere. He wanted the police to identify problematic and extremely sensitive polling centers and prepare required action plans. The CEO advised the police officers to be aware of problematic polling centers during the last elections and finalise booth-level action plans.
Jitender called for constitution of various committees as advised by the Election Commission. He asked the officials to ensure that the allotted funds to the committees were duly spent and the elections are held peacefully.
