Officials thrash out steps to prevent liquor smuggling into districts from AP

Kodad ( Suryapet): Excise Deputy Commissioner Jeevan Singh emphasized on surveillance to prevent smuggling of illegal liquor into the districts from other States.

On Monday, he chaired a joint meeting of Suryapet and Krishna district Excise officials held at the Market Committee office in Kodad in view of the State Assembly elections to be held on December 7.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged the officials of AP to keep tab on sales at wines shops in Jaggaiahpet of Krishna district and Dachepally of Guntur district and collect daily sales report from respective shops in view of Telangana State Assembly elections.

He asked them to warn the liquor dealers of stringent action if the sales increases more than 30 per cent in the same dates of last year. He also urged them to take necessary measures to prevent illegal transport of black Joggery  from Guntur, Tadepalligudem, Vinukonda and some parts of Krishna district of Andhara Pradesh.

Stating that the Excise officials of Telangana State have been carrying out inspections at the election check posts  established at the state border at Ramapuram cross roads of Kodad rural mandal in the district, he informed stringent action would be taken on wine shop owners if they violate the rules .

He requested the officials of the tow States to coordinate each other for smooth conducting of elections. In this meeting, Suryapet district excise official  D Srinivas, Krishna district Excise officer Dr. Ramanamuthy, Kodad CI Surneder, Jaggaiahpet CI  Radha Krishna, Huzurnagar SI Fazaluddin and others participated.
