Patrol cars to keep vigil in Commissionerate
Warangal: The Police Commissionerate has got a fillip on Monday with the government providing a fleet of 62 patrol cars to keep a 24X7 vigil in its command area.
Commissioner of Police V Ravinder, who flagged off the vehicles here, said: “Each vehicle, which will have two personnel, will respond within no time after they receive a complaint from the denizens.
The fleet will play a vital role in crime prevention, detection, investigation etc.” He said that a distress call to ‘100’ will be informed to nearest team instantaneously with location and other details.
Ensuring safety and security of the denizens by keeping an eagle eye on criminals is our utmost motive, he said. Each urban police station will get two vehicles each, while those located in mandals will have a vehicle each at their disposal, he said.
A special training session will be conducted to those deputed to the patrol cars, he said. Central Zone DCP Venkat Reddy, additional DCP B Ashok Kumar and Shankar Naik were among others present.
