It’s nerve-wracking for ticket hopefuls

Medak: Announcement of candidates by political parties in six constituencies in erstwhile Medak district is still awaited. The Grand Alliance consisting of Congress, TDP, TJS, CPI is still in talks on sharing of seats. This is keeping ticket hopefuls in all parties in Kutami on the edge. There are nine aspirants seriously contending for Medak constituency. They are impressing upon their high commands not to let go of this constituency. They also demand that tickets be given to the locals only. The aspirants are already busy rallying support in their favour.

As many as 12 contestants are vying for ticket from Congress party from Patancheru. But TDP is eyeing this constituency as a partner of Grand Alliance. Nandeeswar Goud who recently joined TDP is expecting the seat. He has been vigorously campaigning his candidature. Former Minister Cheruku Mutyamreddy, Dr Shravankumar Reddy, M Nageshwar Reddy are seriously trying for Dubbaka constituency from Congress Party. Muthyam Reddy has already been in hectic campaign. On the other hand, TJS is demanding this seat as part of alliance.  

Communist Party of India is demanding Husnabad constituency. The state secretary of CPI, Chada Venkata Reddy belongs to this constituency. Former MLA Praveen Reddy, Bomma Sriram Chakravarthy are competing for Congress ticket. Situation in Narayankhed constituency is more or less similar. Former MP Suresh Shetkar and late MLA Kistareddy’s son Sanjeeva Reddy are the possible contestants from Congress Party. It is learnt that Sanjeeva Reddy’s name has been finalised and may be announced in first list.

Siddipet is a stronghold for TRS party. Care-taker Minister Harish Rao is gearing up for double hat-trick, if he wins this time. Analysts say that winning is a cake walk for him. On the other side, Congress Party is also fielding its candidate. TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy announced the candidate Daripalli Chandram, long back. But TJS is expecting the ticket from the grand alliance.
