Major parties doing injustice to BCs

Musheerabad: BC Welfare Association state president Jujula Srinivas Goud on Sunday condemned the anti-BC approach of the major political parties which failed to give proper representation to BCs on the basis of their population. He was speaking at BC Bhavan near Indira Park Cross Roads. While BCs constitute 56 per cent of state population, Congress party has allocated only 18 seats; but, on the other hand, Reddys who are only 2 per cent of population have been given around 40 seats, which is gross injustice to BCs, he said.

He said that even a senior BC leader like Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who has been MLA five times and minister for two terms, is not allocated party ticket in the guise of alliance compulsions. Efforts to suppress BCs would not be tolerated, he warned. If BCs do not get proper representation based on their population, this would be last elections for all the forward-caste parties, he warned.

Criticising the TRS party for not giving proper representation to BCs, he said only 21 seats were allocated for BCs out of 105 declared seats. While weaker sections made sacrifices in the formation of the state, the fruits of the agitation are being enjoyed by forward castes, he alleged. He condemned similar efforts to reject seats to BCs by various parties, such as Shankaramma, mother of martyr Srikanthachari, and Cheruku Sudhakar. He alleged that hurdles are being created to avert protests against injustice to BCs.

Among those participated in the meeting were Ganesh Chari, Kothapalli Satish Kumar, Kulkacharla Srinivas, father of the martyr Srikanthachari Kasoju Venkatachari, Lingam Goud, Mahesh Yadav, Santhosh Kumar, Raju, Bade Sab and others.
