Khammam/Palakurthy: Kicking off his second leg of campaign for the ensuing Assembly elections, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday focused his attention on irrigation projects in Khammam and Warangal districts and how the successive governments had bled Telangana white by not bothering about them.

With nominations closing, Chandrasekhar Rao has taken to heli-hopping of the Telangana districts just as the way he did it in 2014 elections and painted a rosy picture for Telangana in the days to come and warned the people that if they trust the Grand Alliance, development would take a back seat and the dark days of powerless agriculture wells would return. At Khammam, which was his first meeting where women attended in huge numbers, including the tribals, the Chief Minister said that Sita Rama irrigation project has to be completed if the entire district has to acquire a green cover.

AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who does not want Khammam to get irrigation facility, had tried to create obstacles for the project. "The Telugu Desam leaders are coming before you, seeking votes without any sense of shame. The Godavari river passes through the district for 180 km and yet there is drought. If you vote for the Grand Alliance of which TDP is a part, you are digging your own grave," he said.

He said that the credit for completing Bhakta Ramadas project goes to minister Thummala Nageswara Rao. He complimented him for making Paleru area acquire green cover. The Chief Minister said that credit for implementing 100 per cent the promises made in the TRS manifesto in 2014 went to his government.
He lashed out at the Congress for criticising the government for not completing double bedroom flats scheme. "Each double bedroom flat that the government had constructed is equivalent to seven houses built by both the Congress and the TDP governments," he said.

At Palakurthy, KCR promised 100 tmcft of water to entire Warangal district once Devadula project is in place. "We have already completed Malakpaur-Lingampalli reservoir. Kaleswarm, Palamuru and Devadula are in advanced state of completion. Once they are completed, there is no dearth of water to the district, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the TRS government had done a great favour to the farmers by providing them round-the-clock power supply to farm wells. Even UNO has recognised Rythu Bandhu scheme as one that would help the farmers to a great extent. If the Congress comes to power, it would bring darkness with it as there would be no power supply to farm wells and houses.
