CII organises quality circle competitions

Hyderabad: Confederation of Indian Industry, Telangana, organised the 5th Telangana State Level Quality Circle Competition here on Tuesday. Over 80 Quality Circle Team members both SMEs and large organisations from across Telangana participated in the competition. The winners were presented with trophies by D Raju, Vice Chairman, CII Telangana & Managing Director, Kirby Building Systems Pvt Ltd.  The first and second prizes were won by teams Rising Stars and Titans, both from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, and the third prize was bagged by team MCCB QC Catalysts of Schneider Electric.

Addressing the awards ceremony, Raju pointed out at the importance of team work in the overall productivity of the organization. He also expressed the importance of work culture and its contribution at the national performance and the involvement of top management in making the quality movement a success in a company. The winning three teams from Telangana would be competing with the winners of the other States in southern region at the CII’s Southern Regional Level Quality Circle competition in Chennai scheduled in January for the next level. 

CII has been continuously advocating the need for increased attention to quality and productivity by industry. CII is spreading the message of quality and the need for Total Quality Management. Quality Circle is one of the employee participation methods. It implies the development of skills, capabilities, confidence and creativity of the people through cumulative process of education, training, work and participation. It also implies the creation of facilitative conditions and environment of work, which creates and sustains their motivation and commitment towards work excellence. Quality Circles have emerged as a mechanism to develop and utilize the tremendous potential of people for improvement in product quality and productivity.
