Surrendered Maoist couple rewarded

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on Saturday rewarded maoist couple K Purushotham (68) and his wife K Vinodini who surrendered in October this year.

According to police officials, as per GO Ms No 614, dated 11.12.2012 of General Administration (SC.A) Department, there was a reward of Rs 8,00,000 on the head of K Purushotham (who was Divisional Committee Secretary) and Rs 5,00,000 on the head of K Vinodini (who was Area Committee Secretary).

Since, they voluntarily surrendered before the police on October 9, the same reward amount was being awarded to the couple, which will help them in their rehabilitation and motivate them to lead peaceful dignified life in the mainstream society. The couple was part of CPI (Maoist) cadre and are residents of Secunderabad. K Purushotham joined the Maoist party (the then People’s War) in the year 1981 at the age of 31 years and married Vinodini, who was a teacher, in the year 1982.
