Aspirants scramble for MP tickets
Qutbullapur: Now that assembly elections are over, former ministers, senior leaders who were defeated in the recent elections, have already indicated their intent to contest in the upcoming MP elections to their high commands. The number of aspirants for the urban seats, especially Secunderabad and Malkajgiri, is increasing by the day.
The TRS party maintains utmost secrecy regarding its candidates. Several senior Congress leaders have revealed their intentions to contest in MP elections. Some Congress leaders have already met PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and pressed their case. Among prominent Congress leaders who are said to be in the race for Malkajgiri seat are former union minister Jaipal Reddy and Renuka Choudhary. It is learnt that the local Congress leader who was defeated from Qutbullapur, Kuna Srisailam Goud, too wants to contest from Malkajgiri constituency. He secured nearly 1.13 lakh votes from Qutbullapur assembly constituency. He sent signals to high command by making his intentions clear to the PCC president.
Similarly, Anjan Kumar Yadav and former cricketer Azaruddin are also being considered by the Congress party for Hyderabad seat. The upcoming Parliament elections may witness a hot contest for these two prestigious seats as both TRS and Congress take the elections seriously. TRS party may put all its best efforts to win these seats to fulfill its dream of winning 16 MP seats in the upcoming elections.
