Update: 2018-12-27 05:30 IST

Hyderabad:  Hyderabad City Congress (HCC) Minorities Department Chairman Waliullah Sameer demanded the Telangana Government to start accepting applications from youth belonging to minority communities under loan-cum-subsidy scheme. Sameer, in a media statement on Wednesday, said that the jobless youth from minority communities did not get a single rupee loan under any scheme ever since the TRS came to power in 2014. He said over 1.53-lakh applications were received in 2015-16 under loan-cum-subsidy scheme. Although nearly 8,000 applications were approved, no one was given loan. Since then, the TRS Government stopped receiving any loan applications. He demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao should immediately revive the scheme and ensure that all deserving youth from minority communities are given loans.

The HCC Minorities Department chairman also informed that the Congress Party would soon launch a helpline, a mobile app and a website to help the jobless minorities get loans from Minorities Finance Corporation under different schemes. Further, he said the jobless youth would be provided guidance on getting unemployment allowance of Rs 3,016 per month from the state government, as it was promised in the TRS manifesto. He said a large number of educated and qualified youths from minority communities were jobless and have no means for survival. They failed to get any assistance from the TRS Government in the last four years. However, he said this time, the Congress Party would mobilise all the jobless youths and launch mass agitation to ensure that they either gets jobs, loans or at least unemployment allowance.

Sameer appealed to the jobless youth belonging to all communities to organise themselves in a proper manner to get their due share in Telangana State. He said there is a need to build pressure on the TRS Government to push it to fulfill the poll promises. He said nearly 30-lakh youth are jobless in Telangana and there was an immediate need to create lakhs of jobs both in public and private sectors. However, he alleged that KCR was focused only in gaining political strength, neglecting the rising unemployment in the state. Sameer said that the Congress Party would play the role of a constructive opposition by mobilising the jobless youth on the slogan, 'Job, Loan or Allowance'.
