Speed up Mission Bhagiratha works: Smitha Sabharwal
Karimnagar: CMO Secretary Smitha Sabharwal on Friday ordered the officials to take necessary steps for completing Mission Bhagiratha works as early as possible, during a video conference with the Collectors of 31 districts from Hyderabad. She held the meeting to discuss land acquisition works under Sripada and Yellampalli canals and Mission Bhagiratha projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Smitha ordered the collectors to complete all the pending projects and to focus on Mission Bhagiratha works. She suggested them to take up Mission Bhagiratha works on war footage to complete them by January 5 next for supplying safe drinking water for every household along with repairing pipeline leakages if noticed anywhere in the respective districts.
As the filter bed works near Manair dam were stopped, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation was unable to supply drinking water to the people living under municipal limits. Hence, she suggested Karimnagar district Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed to take immediate steps for completing filter bed works at the earliest.
Collector Sarfaraz Ahemd assured CMO Secretary Smitha Sabharwal that he would take initiation and would complete the filter bed works along with land acquisition works under various irrigation projects in the district.
Joint Collector G V Shyam Prasad Lal, District Revenue Officer Bikshu Naik, ARAP Chief Engineer Shankar, Superintending Engineer Srikanth Rao, Mission Bhagiratha Project Superintending Engineer Amarendar, Anil Kumar, ZP Chief Executive Officer Venkata Madhava Rao and Engineers of various Irrigation projects were present.
