Nagarkurnool: With hundreds of voter ID cards found thrown in the deep forests in Nallamalla region, the people of Ambrabad mandal under Achampet constituency of Nagarkurnool district are expressing doubts at the way the election officials are working at the mandal level.

According to eye witnesses, it is said that they had found strewn voter ID cards thrown in the forest areas adjacent to the Hyderabad-Srisailam highway near Neeranjan Shah Ali Dargah under Mannunur village limits of Ambrabad mandal.

Upon knowing that large number of ID cards found thrown, the media and other enthusiastic local political leaders reached the spot and identified that the voter ID cards of some of the voters from their constituency. It is also included the name of Anuradha, wife of Dr. Vamshi Krishna, Congress MLA candidate from Achampet and also the name of local ZPTC.

This clearly tells that there is some handiwork of the local officials who might have colluded with some local political party leaders to see that the people who are favouring a particular party could be targeted and thus resorted to dumping the ID cards in the forest.

It is also said that along with the ID cards, voter application forms, ink pads etc were also found in the forest. “This clearly shows that the officials at the mandal level are not working properly to issue the voter ID cards to the applicants.

Even some of the prominent persons in the mandal are also not able to get the cards, with this we can gauge the pitiable situation of the common public who are seeking voter ID cards.,” said Ravinder, a local resident of Mannanur.
