KCR to visit Dubai
Hyderabad: Will the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao embark on his proposed weeklong visit to Dubai to attend investors’ summit and meet Indian diaspora, including Telangana NRIs or postpone it?
According to sources, KCR is to leave for Dubai on Sunday accompanied by a group of state officials. But the officials are tight lipped over the reason why the tour might be cancelled. They, however, point out that if KCR does not undertake the journey, it would be because there are no auspicious days till Sankranti.
The Chief Minister has made all arrangements to leave for Dubai on Sunday morning, a senior official said but indicated that there is a possibility of cancellation of KCR’s foreign tour at the last minute. In case he decides not to go, only the official team will attend the summit. In an official order, Chief Secretary SK Joshi said on Friday that state Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Secretary to Chief Minister S Narsing Rao, Principal Secretary to IT and Industry Jayesh Ranjan and Principal Secretary to Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA and UD) Arvind Kumar will accompany KCR.
The government also made alternative arrangements to look after the affairs of the departments headed by Jayesh and Arvind during their foreign tour. Principal Secretary to Roads and Buildings Sunil Sharma will oversee the functioning of IT and Industry department and Secretary to Women Development and Child Welfare M Jagadeeshwar was placed FAC (Full Additional Charge) to MA and UD department.
The officials said the government has already made arrangements to showcase Telangana as a destination for global investments in IT, manufacturing, pharma and food processing. The official delegation will enter into an MoU with the prospective investors in the summit during their stay in Dubai.
