All houses to get pure drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha
Karimnagar: By completing Mission Bhagiratha works within the time limit, pure drinking water will be supplied to every household, assured City Mayor Ravinder Singh. He inspected the construction works of filter bed and water tank that are under progress at the Lower Manair dam in Karimnagar on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, City Mayor Ravinder Singh said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao dreamt of supplying pure drinking water to every household present across the State. To fulfil his dream and for the wellbeing of people, the CM had launched the prestigious project 'Mission Bhagiratha'.
As part of that and as per the orders issued by the CM, new filter beds with a capacity of 36 MLD (million litres per day) and water tank construction works were taken up on the premises of the old filter bed.
With the existing two filter beds of 34 MLD and 14 MLD capacities and the newly constructed filter with a capacity of 34 MLD, water will be supplied to every household in the city with three filter beds with a total capacity of 82 MLD under Mission Bhagiratha project.
Saying that laying of pipelines under Mission Bhagiratha was already completed in the city except the inter connection works of pipe lines, the Mayor ordered the officials of R&W department and contractors for completing the construction works of filter beds as early as possible. Superintending Engineer of Mission Bhagiratha project Asif and TRS leaders Michael and Srinivas were present.
