Collector warns 2BHK contractors against compromising on quality
Gadwal: District Collector K Shashank inspected the ongoing works of double bedroom houses at Paramaala and Gonpaad in the district on Monday. The Collector, while enquiring with the contractor and engineering officials concerned about the kind of material used for the construction, warned them of severe action if compromised on quality.
At Paramaala village site, of the 560 double bedrooms houses that were sanctioned, the authorities have started construction of 468 houses and all these houses are being constructed in various blocks.
While explaining to the District Collector, the concerned authorities including Panchayatraj Project Engineer Nagarjuna said that at present they have taken up 19.5 blocks of houses and in all those blocks about 468 double bedroom houses are at different stages of construction.
In each block, about eight units of double bedroom houses are constructed. Each block is constructed up to three stories. While revealing about the cost of each block, the Housing construction manager Nagarjuna told the Collector that each double bedroom house was costing about 5.03 lakh.
While giving the current status of the construction works, the authorities revealed that of the 468 houses, about 160 houses are at slab level, while remaining 90 houses are at pillar level. “We started the Paramaala site in October last and taking up the works at a faster pace. We have set the target of completing the works by end of May,” said the manager Rama Rao.
