Warangal: Once you step into the serene settings of 13th Century Ganapeshwaralayam, the abode of Lord Shiva, a cluster of 21 sub-temples near Ganapuram village in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, it’s irresistible to leave the premises. So were the 40-odd Germans led by their spiritual guru Sai Cholleti, an Indian settled in Germany, who made their day memorable with Pranic Yoga at the Ganapeshwaralayam, locally known as Kota Gullu, on Saturday.

Even in ruins, the temple sculpture is a gem. Such was the captivating beauty of the temple, a symbol of Kakatiya architecture at its best. The German group, which includes professors, doctors and engineers etc, were not on a jolly good trip to Telangana State but on a spiritual tour. Thanks to 51-year-old Master Sai Cholleti, an engineering dropout, who some 28 years ago left the country and established Sri Sai Pranic Yoga Healing Centres across Germany. Master Sai who hails from Narsapur village under Venkatapur mandal, an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai, is a disciple of Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, the founder of modern Pranic Yoga.

Speaking to The Hans India, Master Sai said: “The sublime beauty of the 750-year-old temple is a perfect ambience for the people to practise Yoga. At least twice a year I come along with a group of Germans who believes in spirituality and practicing Pranic Yoga healing. The erstwhile Warangal is a haven for temples, lakes and marvelous architecture of Kakatiya era and once soaked in devotion and cultural extravaganza.

It’s a spiritual tour that makes them charged up and staying stress-free.” The idea is to inculcate Indian values and the eternal ideals of sculptures of temples, he added. Talking on the efficacy of Pranic Yoga, he said that it gives stability to the mind and the body, and most importantly it helps to discover one’s inner self. Master Sai who is married to Ruth, a German national, has two sons – Krishna and Govind.
