Court employee’s death sparks protest
Warangal: The death of a contract worker, Tadugula Tina, serving as an office attender in the district legal services authority (DLSA) office created a commotion with her relatives and activists of several Dalit associations staging a protest near the District Court here on Friday.
Tina died while undergoing treatment at the MGM hospital. The relatives, who blamed DLSA secretary P Annie Rose Christian for the death of Tina, staged a protest demanding justice.
Deceased’s husband Ravi lodged a complaint with the police stating that his wife Tina has been working with the DLSA office for the last five years. Tina also used to look after the household works of the DLSA secretary Annie Rose Christian. He alleged that Annie Rose Christian used to harass Tina.
It may be recalled here that Tina attempted suicide on September 27, 2018 after reportedly insulted by DLSA secretary. Tina who consumed sleeping pills was admitted to a private hospital and then shifted to MGM Hospital. However, she continued to work with the DLSA office.
Ravi alleged that his wife had been experiencing some medical issues for the last one month. “The doctors at the MGM hospital told me that Tina had developed an infection in her stomach due to the sleeping pills she consumed previously.
After 20 days, Tina died while undergoing treatment at the MGM Hospital on Friday,” he said. A complaint was lodged with the Subedari police in this regard, demanding action against the DLSA secretary for the death of Tina.
