Sandra stripped off TTD board member post
Khammam: The Andhra Pradesh has dealt a big blow to Sathupally MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah by stripping him off the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Board member post after he failed to take the oath of secrecy in a month’s time of his appointment. The AP government on Friday has issued a notice calling for removal of Sandra as TTD board member.
However, political analysts in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are stating there could be a different cause for Sandra sacking. They felt that the Telugu Desam Party might have a got clarity that Sandra would continue no longer in the party.
Meanwhile, the speculations over Sandra switching loyalties to Telangana Rashtra Samithi still continue in the district. It may be recalled that Sandra won on Telugu Desam Party ticket in the Assembly elections held in December.
The Congress and TDP which were part of grand alliance Mahakutami was defeated all over the State except for Khammam, where two of TDP candidates won, with one of them being Sandra Venkata Veeraiah from the Sathupally constituency.
Further, Sandra is also accused in the Note-for-Vote scam, whose investigation has again gained momentum recently. While Revanth Reddy and Vem Narendar Reddy, who joined the Congress party, were called by the Enforcement Directorate, Sandra did not receive a call from ED fueling the speculations of Sathupally MLA joining the pink party soon.
In the light of all such incidents and speculations, the Andhra Pradesh government has sacked Sandra from TTD Board member post. With this, the rumor of Sandra getting a berth in cabinet expansion, likely on February 19, has got many takers.
