Adilabad: Youngsters apparently more interested in registering their names in the voter’s list, which is evident at the increase in the number of voters in Adilabad district within a short period of two months.

In December last year, there were 19,26,945 voters and now the number of voters in the list is 20,63,963 till date. In a short period, about 1,37,018 voters listed their names in the joint Adilabad district.

In last December, there were 2,01,139 voters in Adilabad constituency and now the number rose to 2,16,560. In Boath constituency, there were 1,82,997 voters in December and now the number increased to 1,92,781.

In Nirmal, the number of voters increased from 2,16,779 to 2,37,097. In Mudhole, the number increased from 2,16,784 to 2,28,587. In Khanapur, the total number of voters was increased from 1,87,893 to 2,02,531.

In Mancherial constituency, the voters’ number increased from 2,27,000 to 2,47,455. In Bellampalli, there were 1,52,905 voters and now there are 1,63,983 voters.

In Chennur, the total number of voters was increased from 1,64,203 to 1,73,863. The total number of voters in Asifabad raised from 1,86,311 to 1,98,526 while in Sirpur constituency, the number increased from 1,90,934 to 2,02,580.

It is apparent that there is a remarkable change among the public as they are aware of the importance of vote this time, compared to last year as
there were very less voter registrations in both urban and sub-urban areas.

Another reason for the increase in voter registration could be that the names of many voters were missing in the December elections. People, who went to the polling booths to cast their votes, had to return without voting as their names were not there in the list.
