Sai Pallavi as the protagonist?

After playing powerful roles in films like ‘Fidaa’ and ‘MCA’, the talented actress is all set to don the protagonist’s role in her upcoming film ‘Virata Parvam 1992.’ “Actually, the whole film revolves around Sai Pallavi although there are other actors like Rana and a Tamil actor. In fact, Irfan Khan was supposed to do a role.

 Nonetheless, the film will tap the acting chops of ‘Fidaa’ actress in an author-backed role,” says a source, close to the unit. The much-hyped movie is being helmed by Venu Udugula of `Naadi Needi Oke Kadha’ fame and it is touted to be a period flick. “Although it is a romantic film but will have its share of action and political overtones,” the source adds. Actually, Sai Pallavi has rejected a couple of heroine roles in T-town since she wasn’t satisfied with the half-baked roles came her way. “Sai Pallavi was waiting to return to T-town with a solid role wherein she could showcase a gamut of emotions and this character  aptly fits the bill,” the source points out. The shooting of this film is expected to begin soon.

“Despite knowing that Sai Pallavi has a meaty role, Rana didn’t mind doing it, because he is also playing a powerful character which justifies his larger-than-life image,” the source concludes. Sai Pallavi, on the other hand, was making waves in K-town with films like ‘Maari 2’ and awaiting the release of  her upcoming film ‘NGK’ with Surya. A good balancing act.
