Govt to fill up 10,000 posts in health department

Warangal: The State government has been making efforts to fill up 10,000 vacant posts in health department, informed Health Minister C Laxma Reddy. The government was spending huge amount of funds in equipping government hospitals with corporate standard facilities for the benefit of poorer sections. For the first time dialysis units were being set up at government hospitals and so far 40 units have been established across the State, he said.

Laxma Reddy along with the Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari has inaugurated newly set up 14- bedded dialysis unit, digital x-ray unit, 30-bedded surgical wing, mechanised laundry and senior resident doctors hostel complex at MGM Hospital in Warangal on Tuesday.

Focus is being laid in boosting infrastructure facilities from Primary Health Centres to Medical Colleges. Super specialty treatment was being offered at government hospitals taking quality health services to people, the Minister said.

Referring to the ongoing protest by Pharm D students, who wanted creation of clinical pharmacist cadre in health department, he said a committee has been formed to look into the matter and soon a decision would be taken. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM Srihari informed that the dialysis unit at MGM Hospital could treat 56 patients daily while appealing the Health Minister to establish dialysis units at Eturunagaram and Bhupalpally for the benefit of people living in agency areas.

A super specialty hospital was being constructed on Kakatiya Medical College campus with an expenditure of Rs 150 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. Steps would be taken to appoint staff for the hospital, which could ease burden on MGMH, he said.

The Deputy CM and Health Minister went around the newly established facilities and interacted with the doctors. They wanted the doctors to ensure better services to the patients visiting the hospital from different parts in the region. ZP chairperson G Padma, MP P Dayakar, MLAs D Vinay Bhasker and K Surekha, Mayor N Narender, KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy, DM&HO Dr B Harish Raj MGMH superintendent Dr D Ramesh, KMC principal Dr Satyanarayana and others were present.
