Police add two more names to list of deceased in Warangal fireworks factory blast

Warangal: The Warangal Police Commissionerate that on Wednesday claimed that eight persons were dead in the fire accident that took place at Bhadrakali Fire Works on the outskirts of the city added two more names in the list of deceased on Thursday.

Commissioner of Police V Ravinder, in a statement issued here, stated that they came to a conclusion after an investigation that two persons Vadnala Mallikarjun and Vangari Rakesh also died in the accident. The body parts of the deceased scattered all over the accident spot were collected by the police.

The DNA samples of the deceased were collected by forensic experts and were sent to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Hyderabad to ascertain the identity of the deceased. An Assistant Commissioner level official had been deputed to probe and ascertain the exact cause that led to the accident, the Commissioner said.

Meanwhile, the police, along with the Fire department officials, are also conducting inspections at shops selling fire crackers and fireworks warehouses located in residential areas. Immediate measures would be taken to shift the warehouses to outskirts of the city, he added.
