Dreams get wings
When a woman determines to aim high then no obstacle can push her down from her ambition. Dharavath Lalitha, hailing from Jalalpuram, Suryapet district decided to become a police officer to live her husband’s dream.
Lalitha’s husband wanted to become a police officer but had failed, which is when she decided to bring his dream to life. Despite, postnatal health problems what with two C-sections that she had to undergo, her household chores and taking care of her two kids that barely left time for her preparation, she managed to pass the qualifying exam, and the strenuous fitness test too last September.
“It was a herculean task to get myself physically fit after my health issues and handling two little kids. The tremendous support from my husband has strengthened me to get through the exam and the physical test,” shared Lalitha.
Lalitha, being a poor peasant’s daughter; her father’s income would only meet their basic needs, still managed to scale up her education by completing BSc Nursing. She married Lavudya Narsing Naik, who is currently working with Potti Sriramulu Telugu University as a contract employee.
Being an NCC certificate holder, it didn’t take her much time to get back into shape for the physical stress. Her husband’s experience came handy, she shared. “My husband took a lot of pain preparing me for the SI recruitment test. He has always been supportive.
Moreover, the onus to look after my kids falls solely on him till I finish my training.'' She is currently undergoing training at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in the suburbs of Hyderabad.
