Sahayathon to be organised on February 3
Hyderabad: A group of The Global Edge School (TGES) teachers and staff has initiated a noble cause. They wanted to help the poor, who are struggling to meet their medical expenses. They came up with the idea of organising a run and diverting the funds collected for this social cause.
Touched by their commitment, TGES readily agreed to be the venue partner. When the word spread, one of the parents offered to help organise the event.
Some companies came forward to voluntarily work on certain aspects of the effort. A team of doctors have volunteered to be on the panel, to guide in the identification and funding of beneficiaries. Under the panel’s guidance, the focus this year is on physiotherapy, an area not covered in existing medical schemes.
The passionate teachers registered the initiative aptly as Helping Hearts Foundation and are organising an annual event, Sahayathon. The proceeds from this event will be donated for the rehabilitation of economically needy who have lost their livelihood for want of physiotherapy treatment.
As K Ranjita Rao, Director- Operations, TGES told The Hans India: ‘ We are expecting around 1000 participants including parents and children as of today’. If you have the heart to help someone, join this initiative. Let us run for our health and also help someone regain his/her mobility.
Registration closes on February 2. One person can participate only in one event. For further details and registration visit: www.sahayathon.org
