Meet on Kishora Vikasam held

  Eluru: The Women and Child welfare department and Zoology Department of St Teresa Autonomous Women's College of Eluru, conducted 'Kishora Vikasam' programme to create awareness on adolescent girls' problems, on the Degree College premises on Monday.

As many as 85 college students participated in the programme and explained the Kishora Vikasam programme to the residential school girl students. About 600 girl students from Vatluru Residential school and 800 students from Social Welfare fourth Hostel in Ameenapeta of Eluru participated in the awareness programme.

The college students explained the hostel students on the child marriage, sexual harassment, women protection Act, career guidance, health and cleanliness. 

Earlier, the hostel and college students formed a human chain and took a pledge.  The programme was inaugurated by SK Sheriff, Assitant Collector, S Vidyavathi, Project Director, Women and Child Welfare, Ch Surya Chakraveni, District Child Protection officer and K Jayalakshmi, Nodal officer. 

St Teresa Autonomous College Principal Sister Mercy, Zoology head of the department R Indira, lecturers K Madhavi Rani, N Prasanna and N Sunitha addressed the students.
