Police producing seized ganja and the accused before the media in Khammam on Friday

Khammam: Police have seized 440 kg ganja worth Rs 44 lakh at Srinagar Colony in Khammam city on Friday. A police team led by Task Force ACP G Venkat Rao and Sathupalli CI Ramakanth and his team found out ganja packets hidden under a tractor trolly during their inspection in the colony. They took Badavath Sanya of Maripeda Bungalow of Mahabubabad district into custody.

ACP Venkat Rao said the main accused Shankar Naik of Islavath Thanda in Mahabubabad district and tractor owner Ravinder Naik, resident of Srinagar Colony, were absconding and police are searching for them.

Shanker Naik used to purchase ganja from Odisha and transport it to Maharashtra. Sanya was reportedly an accomplice to Shanker Naik. Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal and Additional DCP (Law and Order) D Muralidhar appreciated the police team for seizing the ganja.
