308 teams take part in Make N Market event in Warangal
Warangal: As many as 308 teams have demonstrated their prototypes at the 'Make N Market' 3.0, a programme aimed at inculcating startup culture organised by the SR Engineering College (SREC) on its campus at Ananthasagar on Saturday.
It may be mentioned here that SREC which conceptualised Make N Market programme on the lines of Central Government's initiative - 'Make in India' has been organising it for the last three years.
The SREC's NEST for Entrepreneurship in Science & Technology (NEST, an E-Cell) head Dr Suman Naredla has said that the objective of the programme is to inculcate the spirit and culture of entrepreneurship in the region. The event had been receiving overwhelming response from 32 institutions. Teams have been given time to ideate on a concept and design a product and they demonstrated it on Saturday.
The NEST has provided a seed capital of Rs 500 for each team, with an intention to meet the prototype development expenses. Director Dr. C V Guru Rao said that creativity and entrepreneurship is the need of the hour, and educational institutions have a major role to play in this regard.
Indian Innovators Association, Hyderabad, president Ayanampudi Subba Rao, who was the chief guest, stressed the need for encouraging the curiosity of the children. He explained about different types of entrepreneurs, some of them run away after utilizing banks and public money and on the contrary some help in educating & generating employability for this nation.
SRiX CEO Sreedevi Devireddy appreciated young minds for their efforts and innovative ideas. She said that the region has immense potential of innovative quotient, and hence every child should always question why & what. Prashanth Jain and Nikeelu Gunda from T-Works, startup owners, professional body representatives and faculty from various institutions were part of the programme.
