6 persons drown in Nagarjuna Sagar

Nalgonda As many as six members of Ankur Hospital of AS Rao Nagar in Hyderabad reportedly drowned when the Scorpio they were travelling in rammed into Nagarjuna Sagar canal at the outskirts of Chakirala of Nadigudem mandal in Suryapet district on Friday night.

According to Kodad DSP Sudhrashan Reddy, the incident took place when the staff of Ankur hospital were returning to Hyderabad after attending marriage of their colleague at Chakirala. The details of the victims are yet to be known.

The local police took up search operations at accident spot along the canal but were facing troubles as the canal is flowing aggressively with released water from Nagarjuna Sagar Dam.
