Karimnagar: Elaborate arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of Parliament elections, which will be held on Thursday (April 11), stated Joint Collector Shyam Prasad Lal.

He inspected the distribution and reception centres established at SRR Government Degree College in Karimnagar on Wednesday.

The JC ordered the sectoral officials to inspect the polling centres assigned to them in a single route without missing even a single polling station and ordered the presiding officers to be available during the polling process.

He ordered the polling staff not to open VVPATs at the distribution centre to check their functioning. "Lock them, take them to the polling centres, open them on the polling day at 6 am and conduct mock polling in front of the agents and do not give any scope for mistakes.

If there are any problem with VVPATs, then change them immediately along with helping the disabled voters"

Later, Joint Collector Lal distributed the polling equipment, EVMs, polling compartments and other required materials to the polling staff. He ordered the officials to arrange lunch for the polling staff and not to create any inconvenience to them.
