Basaveswara jayanti fete in Jogipet

Jogipet: The 886th birth anniversary of Basaveswara was organised here under Veera Shaiva Samaj on Tuesday. President of the Samaj A Rameshappa initiated the celebrations with 'Rudrabhishekam' in a local Shiva temple.

Later, Akkamahadevi Basaveswara Namakaranotsavam, Dolarohana, mass prayers, followed by Shobha Yatra from Parvathi Temple to Basaveswara X Roads were taken up.

Andole MLA Ch Kranthi Kiran garlanded the statue of Basaveshwara. The programme was officially organised at local tehasildar office.
