Bundigani Kalva water to farmers by December-end

Athmakur (M) (Yadadri-Bhongir): Aler MLA Gongidi Sunitha stated that ayacut farmers will get irrigation water from Bundigani Kalva by December-end.

On Tuesday, she examined the works of modernisation of Bundigani Kalva in Athmakur mandal of Aler constituency. Later addressing the media, the MLA said that the government had paid Rs 28 crore of the sanctioned Rs 82 crore for the modernisation of canal works. Out of the required 98 acres, 72 acres has been taken from the farmers.

Similarly, out of 44 structures, so far construction of nine structures was completed and works of three structures are under progress, she added. Still, 7.3 km works of canal yet to be completed.

She further added that she was going to meet Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to request him to provide Godavari water from Kaleshwaram instead of Musi water to Bunadigani Kalva for better yields. She informed that as many as nine check dams were sanctioned with an estimated cost of Rs 38 crore in Bikkeru Vagu.
