Central team visits Narasimha Reserve Forest in Yadadri-Bhongir

Yadadri-Bhongir: NITI Aayog senior advisor and Central government's Jal Abhiyan district nodal officer Avinash Mishra and deputy secretary Manish Kumar Jhu on Wednesday visited Narasimha Reserve Forest besides plant nurseries established by district forest department at Rayagiri and Vadaigudem villages in Bhongir mandal of the district. District Forest Officer Venkateshwar Reddy explained about the maintenance of reserve forest and nurseries to the visiting officials.

He informed that as many as 30,000 saplings were grown in the nurseries for carrying out plantation in the reserve forest and check dams, farm ponds and recharging pits were constructed in 50 hectares of reserve forest to harvest the rainwater.

Officials of Central team expressed their pleasure over the measures being taken at reserve forest and planted saplings in the forest land as a mark of their tour.

Later, they visited Yadadri and had the darshan of Lord Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy at Balalayam and took the blessings of temple priests.

Meanwhile, the central team also examined drip irrigation cultivation at Narsapuram village of Rajapet mandal in the district.

District Horticulture Officer Suresh, in-charge Panchayat Officer Venkat Reddy, Assistant Project Director Shyamala, Forest Range Officer Y Srinivas and officials of other departments were present during the Central team's visit.
