Cricket betting racket busted, 2 held

Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force sleuths on Wednesday busted a cricket betting racket and arrested two persons and seized Rs 1.70 lakh and 2 cell phones form their possession.

According to police, main accused Sudesh Sing(absconding) resorted to collecting cricket betting to make easy money and worked with his cousin Mahesh Singh.

During IPL-2019, match between Sunrisers vs Chennai Super Kings, the Mahesh Singh and another main bookie Sudesh Singh were receiving calls from the punters and collecting the betting amounts with the assistance of one collection boy Sai Kiran Yadav.

On a tip off that the accused were collecting huge betting amounts from punters, the Task Force sleuths raided at Tinki Bar in Jiyaguda and arrested collection boy Sai Kiran Yadav and Mahesh Singh.

The accused along with seized property were handed over to SHO Kulsumpura police station for further action.
