Cricket betting racket busted, two held
Hyderabad: North Zone Task Force police on Saturday busted a cricket betting racket at Narayanguda and nabbed two persons. The police said they seized Rs 1.73 lakh, a TV and four cell phones from the possession of the arrested.
The accused were identified as Manoj Kumar (35) and Thakur Yogesh Singh (21).

He came into close contact with main bookie Kuldeep Singh and decided to organise cricket betting for the ongoing cricket matches.
Manoj Kumar took a flat on rent at Narayanguda. Under supervision of Kuldeep Sing, he had collected betting amount from punters during ongoing cricket matches of ICC World Cup.
An agent, named Thakur Yogesh Singh, was engaged to identify interested punters and collect betting amount from punters on commission basis and remit it to main bookie, the police said.
On credible information, the Task Force police laid a trap and arrested two accused persons.
The arrested along with seized property were handed over to Narayanguda police station for further investigation.
