Dalits protest over attack on sarpanch

Vatpally: Leader of Ambedkar Association Devaraj expressed doubts over negligence of police for registering a case against the accused who attacked dalit sarpanch of Palvatla village. He garlanded the Ambedkar statue here on Friday and submitted a memorandum.

Later, speaking in the meeting organised by dalit associations, he said dalits were being used as vote banks during elections. He expressed concern over increasing atrocities on dalits.

He said, the sarpanch Raghvender was attacked by higher community people but police are not registering the case. He warned that he would take up hunger strike at Ambedkar statue if police did not accept the complaint from the sarpanch.
